Solution for "Microsoft Word has stopped working" on exit

Didn't expect myself to write one so quickly but here it is.

I was getting this message whenever I tried to exit Microsoft Office 2007 with a document opened.

Some of you might think, oh, it still saves, who cares, but as someone that usually writes a few documents at the same time, as to b.s. 3 essays before the deadline simultaneously, this was not good.

So I've been searching for answers all over the net, there were a few causes:

By a corrupt template, which can be solved by:

1. With the windows search function: search for normal.dot or normal.dotm

2. delete the instances

By corrupt registry files/values, which can be solved by:

1. Open up Regedit. (Go to Start and type "regedit" in the search field and press enter.) 

2. In Regedit navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

3. Right mouse click on the "Data" folder and delete it. 

4. Open up Word, close it, and voila, problem solved.

And the last one, by a "COM Add-in", which I can find no information about anywhere else,

so if you are one of the people who gets cannot solve the problem with above fixes, try this:

1. Open up the option menu

2. Click the "Add-ins" tab on the left

3. Picture is self-explanatory

4. Now trial and error: check the add-ins one at a time (or cumulatively is okay, too)

and find out which add-in is faulty, 

then disable it by unchecking the checkbox to the left.

Viola, problem solved.
